“I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to lead a more awakened life.” – Lama Yeshe Rinpoche
Dreams of Awakening is an exciting exploration of lucid dreaming theory and practice within both Western and Tibetan Buddhist contexts. It is based on over 13 years of personal practice and the hundreds of lucid dreaming workshops which Charlie has taught around the world in venues as diverse as Buddhist temples and dance-music festivals. Using a three-part structure of Ground, Path and Germination, the reader is given a solid grounding in:
- the history and benefits of lucid dreaming and Tibetan dream yoga
- cutting edge scientific research on how we sleep and dream
- lucid dreaming techniques and practices
- the investigation of prophetic dreams, lucid living, out of body experiences and quantum dreaming
- Mindfulness of Dream & Sleep, the innovative new approach to lucidity training which the author co-created.
The fundamental aims of Dreams of Awakening are to make the 30 years we spend asleep more meaningful and to teach people how to lucid dream their way to psychological and spiritual growth – awakening them to their true potential.
“Charlie is able to make lucid dreaming cool, fresh and relevant to anyone and crucially he makes the process easy to understand. As a hypnotherapist I can see that he writes from his heart with no hidden agendas, which is a very refreshing approach.” – Valerie Austin author of Self Hypnosis: A Step-by-step Guide to Improving Your Life
“I have been involved in the Toltec culture of dreaming for many years and Charlie´s book is one of the best I have ever read about dreams. We are entering a new period of time in which the ancient lineages of dreamers were predicted to be rediscovered, and Charlie Morley is giving a treasure for these times, a modern view on the ancient Tibetan practices of dreaming.” – Sergio Magaña Ocelocoyotl author of 2012-2021:The Dawn of the Sixth Sun
“Joyfully exploring consciousness, lucid dreaming and Buddhism, Charlie Morley gently stretches the reader’s mind to accept dream yoga’s premise of real awakening. I recommend this for everyone on the lucid dreaming path.” – Robert Waggoner, author of Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self
“Charlie is proof of evolution. He’s the next generation, sharp of mind and sweet of heart. He’s like a DJ mixing old and new to create a practice that’s relevant, useful and most importantly, one that works. I wholeheartedly recommend his book. He’s the real thing.” – Ya’Acov Darling Khan, co-Author of Movement Medicine: How to Awaken, Dance and Live your Dreams.
“This is an exciting book by a brilliant young teacher that will enthral all those fascinated by the possibility of both lucid dreaming and lucid living.” – Tim Freke, author of Lucid Living and The Mystery Experience
“I have run joint retreats with Charlie and I consider him to be the most experienced and authentic practitioner of lucid dreaming teaching in Europe. He has been training since his teens and this book offers a training programme based on this unique practical experience.” – Rob Nairn, author of Living, Dreaming, Dying
“As I read Charlie’s book I could almost hear him speak with his unique openness and ability to weave inspiration and fact together in the most accessible of ways. Even more importantly his words have a clarity that is rare to find, making this book open to anyone who wants to expand their dream life and thus their waking life.” – Graham Nicholls, author of Avenues of the Human Spirit, and Navigating the Out-of-Body Experience.
CHARLIE MORLEY has been lucid dreaming since his teens and has been described as ‘the most authentic practitioner of lucid dreaming teaching in Europe.’ At the age of 25 he became one of the first Westerners officially ‘authorised to teach’ lucid dreaming practice within the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. This offers him a unique insight into lucid dreaming and a rare ability to synthesise both Western and Eastern perspectives on lucidity. www.charliemorley.com
